DGI
Analysis
1 Sep – 20 Dec 2018
The purpose of this project was to study an organisations dissemination of a message to a specific target group, in order to have that target group support the message. The project also set out to define conditions for the organisations communication of the message, in regard to the target group. The project based its study on the organisation DGI and their relationship with local associations in relation to the organisations communication of a vision of theirs. This project didn’t involve any design or systems and was purely focused around communication.
Process
The proces of the project was primarily formed around an organisation and communication analysis, which was centred around DGI and their relationsship with local voluntary-driven associations. Semi-structured interviews were also carried out with employees of DGI as well as members of various associations. These interviews were transcribed and coded, in order to reveal the main findings.
The study found that if an organisation has different divisions and differing goals, it could cause confusion within the organisation as to what the organisations main goal is. It was also found that the structure of associations and their core values could have an impact on the cooperation between an organisation and associations. In addition, based on the study it could further be assumed that the difference between a professional unit and a volunteer unit, could have an impact on the cooperation between the parties, because of a possible lack of dedication from the volunteer party.
